Standing for truth in the midst of adversity is difficult, but will always result in triumph. The image that reporters of the news portray of President Donald Trump is usually inaccurate and negative while opposing political officials regularly discredit his decisions. The intentional public criticism of President Trump has not silenced his passion and vigilance of standing for believes is right. A proven leader in both private and public sectors, Donald J. Trump has earned respect, despite the media and the Democrats conspiring to discredit him.
Before becoming a politician, Donald J. Trump learned that honesty and hard work are the foundation for accomplishing great things. Born and raised in Queens, New York, Donald Trump graduated from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. Following his father’s footsteps, Trump began his career in real estate development by purchasing, renovating and constructing buildings and becoming recognized as one of the most successful developers in New York. Mr. Trump’s success in business and his accomplishments as a leader, became the basis on which his political career was established. During a speech at his Trump Tower facility in June of 2015, Donald J. Trump announced his presidential candidacy for the Republican Party. Emphasizing his background in business not politics and his promise to “Make America Great Again”, Donald Trump became the 45th President of the United States by carrying “30 states and the decisive Electoral College with 304 electoral votes to Clinton’s 227” (Beckwith par. 1). However, the unexpected victory by Trump generated animosity from the opposing party and by most media outlets. Accentuating the fact that Trump lost the Popular vote, albeit by a slim margin, the media campaigned that most American voters preferred Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump.
An immediate effort to portray President Trump in a negative light was launched by those that opposed him. In his first one hundred days in office, he received three times more media coverage than any preceding president, with most of the coverage being reported negatively. President Trump became the subject of news across forty-one percent of all mainstream media outlets with over eighty percent of the coverage being negative. The media bias against President Trump has been unprecedented, however, he soon learned he could use the negative media assault to his advantage. In a counter-attack strategy, Trump began systematically identifying national media sources as broadcasting “fake news”, and began denouncing specific biased reporters who blatantly misrepresented the truth. It became clear early in his presidency that mainstream media and the Democratic party were in collusion to influence the public perception of President Trump. In spite the negative tactics, most American’s agree that the office of president deserves respect and that the welfare of the country should always be at the forefront of national decisions.
Despite continual resistance, President Trump has had many great achievements in his first term. Implementing the “trickle-down” theory of economics, he has made our economy the strongest that it has been in decades with the lowest unemployment rates in the last fifty years. Under President Trump’s leadership The United States has created almost four million new jobs and the average income for the middle class has increased by over eight percent. The president has also provided significant tax cuts for small businesses, eliminated many government regulations and increased exports along with many other achievements as part of his plan to make our country a better place to live.
Donald Trump is a proven leader, as an elite businessman and as President of the United States, he knows how to get things done. Often defying conventional wisdom and protocol with his passion and verbose personality, he sometimes arouses animosity from those that oppose him. President Trump is underappreciated and misrepresented by the press and left-winged politicians, but Donald J. Trump has succeeded in all of his professional endeavors, especially as President of the United States of America.
